As an Asphalt Screed Operator, you will play a critical role in our asphalt paving operations.
You will be responsible for operating and maintaining asphalt paving equipment, with a primary focus on operating the asphalt screed.
Your expertise in achieving precise grades, proper mat thickness, and a smooth finish will be vital to the success of our projects.
Responsibilities:
Operate and control the asphalt screed to ensure proper thickness, width, and smoothness of the asphalt mat.
Monitor and adjust the screed's temperature, vibration, and other settings to achieve optimal performance.
Collaborate with the paving crew to maintain a consistent flow of asphalt and ensure efficient paving operations.
Conduct regular inspections of the equipment to identify any maintenance or repair needs.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with the project manager, crew members, and other stakeholders.
Willing and able to do what it takes to be a part of the team to execute daily productions and goals.
Qualifications:
Previous experience operating asphalt paving equipment, with a specific focus on asphalt screed operation.
In-depth knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, including grade control and surface finishing.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and grade stakes.
Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving minor equipment issues.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision to achieve desired results.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Valid driver's license Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment when necessary.
