Giorgi Mushroom is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator.
The EHS Coordinator has the responsibility for providing support to the EHS Manager in ensuring implementation, training, compliance, and maintenance of all EHS programs.
This includes implementation and evaluation of critical environmental and safety processes, programs, and procedures to achieve goals, objectives, and continuous improvement related to compliance as well as injury reduction.
Essential Job Functions Act as a primary backup for the EHS Manager in their absence.
Be present on the production floor daily to interact with all employees.
Monitor and maintain compliance with the requirements of federal & state EPA and OSHA regulations and applicable consensus standards.
Provide direct support in the developing and implementing facility EHS policies and practices.
Provide relevant content and subject matter expertise to support:
>Creation, delivery, and tracking of environmental and safety related training >Effective implementation of compliance and management system programs >Facility assessments for the reduction of hazards, prevention of accidents and environmental non-compliance.
Complete the tracking and analysis of environmental data in support of environmental compliance and required reporting.
Assist in creating and providing support as requested to achieve annual plant environmental and safety goals.
Work in a team environment to continuously improve performance related to injury/illness prevention, compliance assurance, safety assessments, incident investigation, and employee training.
Work with the management team and employees to improve a culture, awareness, and responsibility across the organization.
Assist with employee engagement efforts including oversight of safety committees and the company's behavioral assessment process.
Assist with workers compensation management and the return-to-work program as needed.
Execute routine inspections, audits, and drills.
Document the results of each, reporting deviations to the EHS Manager.
Assist with the maintenance of all documentation required to demonstrate compliance with required federal, state and local record keeping requirements, as well as all required external submission reports.
Assist in the completion of investigations related to environmental incidents, and the completion of corrective actions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to speak and write in English and Spanish.
2 to 4 years of experience supporting Environmental, Health, and Safety programs.
Experience with coordinating environmental and safety initiatives in a manufacturing or food processing facility.
Experience with operational and facility improvements to meet air, water, and waste objectives.
Proactive, highly organized, and committed to continuous improvement.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders and audiences.
Knowledgeable of federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations as well as relevant consensus standards (e.
g.
, ANSI, NFPA, NIOSH).
Knowledge of Behavioral Safety Auditing techniques.
Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis education or experience.
Ability to coach and train employees.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (to include but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong organization skills, including attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and prioritize projects.
Interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict and reach agreement with others.
Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
Ability to recognize compliance and risk issues and situations.
Ability to recommend, develop, and implement compliance strategies and plans.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PPT, Excel, Word).

S.
in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field from an accredited university is preferred.
