The Giorgi Companies is seeking an Environmental Coordinator.
The Environmental Coordinator has the responsibility for providing support to the Environmental Manager in ensuring environmental compliance and maintenance of their applicable parts of the EHS management program.
Specifically, this position will aid in assuring all operations comply with environmental regulations pertaining to wastewater, stormwater, water use, spill prevention and oil management, and waste management, and will be assist in facilitating system improvements to accomplish annual objectives.
Essential Job Functions Complete the tracking and analysis of environmental data in support of environmental compliance and required reporting.
Monitor and maintain compliance with the requirements of federal & state environmental regulations and applicable consensus standards.
Provide direct support in the developing and implementing corporate and operating policies and practices to ensure environmental compliance.
Execute routine inspections and audits.
Assist with the completion and maintenance of all documentation required to demonstrate compliance with required federal, state, and local recordkeeping requirements, as well as all required external submission reports.
Delivery and tracking of environmental training.
Assist in the completion of investigations related to environmental incidents, and the completion of corrective actions.
Reinforce environmental programs through engagement at all levels of the organizational workforce.
Assist in creating and providing support as requested to achieve annual plant environmental goals.
Work with the management team and employees to improve a culture, awareness, and responsibility across the organization.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 2 to 4 years of experience with leading environmental initiatives in a manufacturing or food processing facility.
Experience with operational and facility improvements to meet air, water, and waste objectives.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders and audiences.
Knowledgeable of federal, state, and local environmental regulations as well as relevant consensus standards.
Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis education or experience.
Ability to coach and train employees.
Strong organization skills, including attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and prioritize projects.
Interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict and reach agreement with others.
Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
Ability to recognize compliance and risk issues and situations.
Ability to recommend, develop, and implement compliance strategies and plans.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision Proficient with Microsoft Office (to include but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Education Requirements BS in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field from an accredited university is required.
